JAY Z making it big in agency bussiness

Music superstar JAY Z has taken the sports agency world bye a storm with his new brand Roc Nation, a agency for professional and college athletes in every sport. Since 2013 Roc Nation and JAY Z have been getting a collection of college athletes that have turned pro. The biggest one has been Johnny Manziel of the Cleveland Browns. Some People say that Roc Nation Sports Agencies is a joke but it has grossed over 83 million dollars since its grand opening in November of 2013.

Roc Nation does not only have huge profit margins, it also has huge athletes as well. From the NBA Roc Nation represents James Young, Boston Celtics and the MVP himself Kevin Durant from the Oklahoma City Thunder. It even represents Skylar Diggings from the WNBA. Thats not all, Roc Nation has reached out to the NFL representing Victor Cruz, Hakeem Knicks, Geno Smith, and Ndamukung Suh. For the MLB they represent Robinson Cano, Runsney Castillio, and CC Sabathia. JAY Z said he hopes to reach out to the MLS and NHL this season. With that said Jermaine Jones from the US National team reportedly reached out to JAY Z for representation.

If you think this is a joke agency, Roc Nation reportedly gets their player bigger endorsement deals and better appearance salaries.  JAY Z said "If we wanted to be a joke I would have created my self in 2k and just stuck to that. But here at Roc Nation we are the real deal and will be the best in sports."

In the end I loved reading about this because I love how JAY Z has his hands in everything now a days.

  1. Jay Z's success does not surprise me at all. Being a rapper and a businessman has helped him snag some major athletes because he can relate to nearly everyone he wants to sign.
Jay Z will only become more successful and rich as he gets older.

  2. Jay Z has always been known for being a great business man. I do disagree with him when he said he is the best in sports. If his company was the best in sports he would have bigger NBA and NFL players. Like come on now, Hakeem Knicks is terrible, as is James Young. If he had names like Calvin Johnson and LeBron James I would believe him.

  3. I know if I was a professional athlete, I would definitely want to be represented by Jay Z. Just being a part of his organization would most likely bring in more money for you from the start. He's a very successful rapper and now he's becoming as good, or maybe even better at being a business man. Maybe with a couple more years under his belt, he will be able to snag players like LeBron James and Calvin Johnson.

  4. Jay-Z seems to be an excellent business man. If he is able to start his business endorsing professional athletes, despite their lack of skill or experience, then there is a good chance he can endorse bigger name players once they see the potential of his company.

  5. Jay Z is great at expanding his empire through music and sports. His popularity allows him to reach all sports teams. I agree with Tyler that I would want to be represented by Roc Nation.

  6. Roc Nation is most definitely on the rise in sports. The money they bring in now is ridiculous and I cant even imagine what they will be bringing in in 5-10 years. Kids nowadays love young athletes and they are who Jay Z is targeting for this brand.
