LeBron.. He's Home.. But at a GOOD Price..

LeBron James and his epic return to Cleveland after 4 season with the Miami Heat has been the talk of the sports news especially with the NBA season underway. The city of Cleveland isnt just happy they got their "home town hero" back, they are more happy with the business side of things. The Cavs only sold 20, 562 tickets last season per game. The averaged ticket price was around $55.95. This resulted in a $47.2 million dollars in ticket sales. Those totals are yet expected to double maybe even triple if the  Cavs advance to the post season.

But even outside of the CLeveland orginization, The business owners in the city and around the sporting complex are expect to have a raise in total revenue. With the arrival of LeBron James it is expect that sports bars, bars, and your normal returants that broadcast the game on TV will show a rise in sales during basketball sesason. It is expect that all the business within a 5 mile raduis will expericence a profit gain of 4%-16% over the course of the season.

With Christmas shopping on the rise it also seems that sports apperal stores in the area of the staduim that sell Cvs gear and LeBron jerseys will see a rise in sales over this holiday season. LeBron's jersey is the most bought jersey in the entire NBA, with this label it is certain that this will boost totoal revenue for local business that sell the sports apperal.

Brazil Lost the World Cup but, Ultimately Won in the End...

As we all know this past worl cup was held in the beautiful country of Brazil. Even though Brazil los the worl cup they did ultimately win. The reason why behind this is that Brazil had over 1 million foreign tourist visit during the month long festivities of the World Cup. The contry only predicted about 600,000. This was a sure growth in the countrys economy for just one month. The local Businesses, Hotles, Shops, Grocery Stores and others all saw a significant increase in sales and profit from the 1 million foriegn travelers.

But the biggest and most unexpeected number was the number of Brazilians that traveled within the country itself. They expected around 2.4 million Brazilians to travel from place to place to see each game, but it was a whopping 3 million that traveld within their own country to see all the soccer games.

Now you can say that this didnt effect the economy like the forgien travlers did. But it reality the Brazilians who traveled within their own counrty had the biggest impact of all. This is because they needed to eat, drive from place to place, pay for gas, if they were not driving they took a bus that they probably needed to pay for.

So as I conclude this blog i found that Brazil in the end ulitimatly won.

Moroccan Futbol Team struggles due to Ebola

The Moroccan soccer team has struggled latley due to the Ebola outbreak. This virus has swept the entire world by a strom, not just effecting lives and family, now its efecting the sports world as well. WIth the recent outbreak in Africa and the spreading of this deadly desiase, it has come to Morocco and effected the National Soccer team and affecting its chances of qualifying for World Cup qualifiers i years to come.

SOme people say that Morocco never had a chance to qualify anyway, but its noy just effecting its soocer team. This is effecting the nations tourism from  the surrounding countires and all over the world, which means a lower profit for all hotels and businesses in the area. Mostly, the ticket sales for the games are at a al time low. The stadium isnt mking enough money to opperate with a full staff, they needed to lay off about 300 employees to make it work with the stadiums income.

Now on to the soccer team part, it is efecting them because the games they are needing to play are being cancled or post poned. No country will bring their team to Morocco and risk the chance of Ebola. FIFA has announced that the games missed by the Moroccan National team can and will be made up on a later date after all the players and staff and the surrounding area has been cleared of Ebola.

How Major League Sports Relate to Economics

In major league sports it depends a lot on lacation. When new players go into free angency each year there are a few factors that each player considers before making a move back to his original team or a new team. This realtes to economics because of how each city has its own eonomic factors, Like New York for example, it is a very well known place for publicity and fashion and big names. Another place that could be considered would be Los Angeles, this city is the exact same was as New York. Big, Bold, and Glamorous.
Now, dealing with majoor league sports and players, bigger cities are financially stronger. On average,  the better teams are in bigger cities, they are also finacally stronger. This is because the revenue is so much bigger in the cities that are bigger.
The big market teams in any sport are more likely to land the "Big Time" or "All Star" free agents. This is due to the ammount of hype and attention the athlete will get. The more attention a athlete gets, the more money he/she will make. Its a game inside of a game and free agaency is always something fun to watch unfold.

JAY Z making it big in agency bussiness

Music superstar JAY Z has taken the sports agency world bye a storm with his new brand Roc Nation, a agency for professional and college athletes in every sport. Since 2013 Roc Nation and JAY Z have been getting a collection of college athletes that have turned pro. The biggest one has been Johnny Manziel of the Cleveland Browns. Some People say that Roc Nation Sports Agencies is a joke but it has grossed over 83 million dollars since its grand opening in November of 2013.

Roc Nation does not only have huge profit margins, it also has huge athletes as well. From the NBA Roc Nation represents James Young, Boston Celtics and the MVP himself Kevin Durant from the Oklahoma City Thunder. It even represents Skylar Diggings from the WNBA. Thats not all, Roc Nation has reached out to the NFL representing Victor Cruz, Hakeem Knicks, Geno Smith, and Ndamukung Suh. For the MLB they represent Robinson Cano, Runsney Castillio, and CC Sabathia. JAY Z said he hopes to reach out to the MLS and NHL this season. With that said Jermaine Jones from the US National team reportedly reached out to JAY Z for representation.

If you think this is a joke agency, Roc Nation reportedly gets their player bigger endorsement deals and better appearance salaries.  JAY Z said "If we wanted to be a joke I would have created my self in 2k and just stuck to that. But here at Roc Nation we are the real deal and will be the best in sports."

In the end I loved reading about this because I love how JAY Z has his hands in everything now a days.

Will Ronaldo leave Real Madrid for bigger pay out?

Cristiano Ronaldo, one of soccers most exciting players of all time is hinting to sources that he might be leaving his current club Real Madrid for his old club Manchester United. But how does this relate to economics? Well in 2009 Ronaldo left Manchester United for Real Madrid,  he was signed to a 3 year deal worth 59 million dollars which made Ronaldo the highest paid soccer player in the world and in history. Then again in 2012 he signed another 3 year extension woth 62 million dollars breaking his own record for being the highest payed soccer.

As it has been recently reported Ronalde as been talking with his old teammate Gareth Bale, a player for Manchester United. Repotedly these two have been talking about Ronaldo making his return to the Barclays Premire League. But where will Mnachester United be getting atleast 54 million-60 million dollars to afford his high price tag?

The reasons of how Ronaldo will be taken on to the is reported to be that after this season Ramadel Falcao will not be picked up for a transfer from the loan from AS Monaco. Also that Wayne Rooney and Robin Van Persie will have to take pay cuts if they want CR7 to joing their squad. But transfering striker Danny Wellbeck to Arsenal FC freed up alof of slary cap for Manchester United.

In the end I loved reading about this article since Real Madrid and Manchester United are my two favorite teams in soccer. Also that I found it interesting how much Cristiano Ronaldo made. It's a crazy ammount.

NFL Jersey sales skyrocket as Manziel leads the way.

Johnny Football, a football player who has taken the sports world by a storm. Love him or Hate him, Johnny Manziel has taken over the NFL jersey sales surpassing league superstars like Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Adrian Peterson, LeSean McCoy, and Calvin Johnson aka Megatron. This article I read through ESPN showed that within the fist 3 months of Jonny Football's jersey being released it grossed about $46 million. Thats the most ever by a rookie in NFL history.

If you think thats crazy?, at this point Manziel did not even play one down in the NFL yet. He was just drafted 2 1/2 months before this! This article gave me a lot of inforamtion on how the NFL divides up their jersey sales between the team, the leauge, and the specific player. Within that $46 million Johnny Manziel got around $5.2 million, the Cleveland Browns got $20.3 million and the NFL got $20.5 million.

Overall this article gave me a great insite on how the league divides up the money on sales with merchandise and other things. But I thoroughlly enjoyed reading about Johnny Football!
